FFL Policy & Firearms Compliance

1. What Items Require an FFL Transfer?

Certain items sold by Boomstick Outdoors are federally regulated and must be shipped to a licensed Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer for legal transfer to the purchaser. These items include:

• All firearms (handguns, rifles, shotguns)
• Firearm frames and receivers
• Silencers/suppressors and other NFA-regulated items
• Short-barreled rifles (SBRs) and short-barreled shotguns (SBSs)
• Any other item classified as a “firearm” under federal law

Items that do NOT require an FFL: Most accessories, optics, magazines, chassis systems, scope mounts, cleaning supplies, and apparel ship directly to you via standard carriers.

2. FFL Transfer Process

For any firearm purchase, the following steps must be completed before the firearm is shipped:

1. Place your order. Complete your purchase through our website and provide accurate shipping and contact information.
2. Select your FFL dealer. Locate a licensed FFL dealer near you who is willing to receive the transfer. This may be a gun shop, sporting goods store, or pawn shop with an FFL.
3. Send us the FFL information. Email a copy of the receiving dealer's FFL (with signature, if required) to joe@boomstickoutdoors.com within 7 days of placing your order. Include your order number in the subject line. Alternatively, the receiving dealer may fax or email the FFL directly.
4. FFL verification. We will verify the dealer's FFL on file with the ATF before shipping. Most FFL dealers are already in our system.
5. Shipping. The firearm is shipped directly to the receiving FFL dealer, not to your home or personal address.
6. Pick up at the FFL dealer. Once the firearm arrives, the FFL dealer will contact you to complete the transfer. You must complete ATF Form 4473, pass a NICS background check, and pay any transfer fees charged by the FFL dealer (typically $25–$75, set by the dealer — not us).

3. FFL Information Deadline & Order Cancellation

If we do not receive a valid FFL within 14 days of your order being placed, we reserve the right to:

• Contact you to request the information
• Cancel the order and refund your purchase, less a 5% restocking fee to cover payment processing costs

4. Age Requirements

Per federal law (18 U.S.C. § 922), you must meet the following minimum age requirements to purchase firearms:

• 21 years of age — to purchase a handgun, handgun ammunition, or handgun frame/receiver
• 18 years of age — to purchase a long gun (rifle or shotgun), long-gun ammunition, or long-gun frame/receiver

Some states impose higher age minimums. You are responsible for knowing and complying with the laws of your state. By placing an order, you certify under penalty of law that you meet all applicable age requirements.

Our website also requires age verification (18+) for all visitors due to the nature of the products we sell.

5. Prohibited States & Jurisdictions

Due to state-specific firearm and accessory laws, we are unable to ship certain items to the following jurisdictions. This list is not exhaustive and may change as laws evolve. Restrictions may apply to specific products (e.g., standard-capacity magazines, certain rifle configurations, suppressors).

Suppressors / NFA items: We do not currently ship NFA-regulated items. Suppressors are prohibited in CA, DC, DE, HI, IL, IA, MA, MN, NJ, NY, RI, WA, and others. Check your state laws.

If you place an order for an item prohibited in your state, we will cancel the order and refund your payment. You are responsible for knowing and complying with the laws of your state, county, and municipality.

6. International Shipping

We do not ship firearms or regulated items internationally. Export of firearms and related items is regulated by the U.S. Department of State and Department of Commerce and requires an export license that we do not hold.

7. Prohibited Persons

Under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) and (n), certain persons are prohibited from purchasing or possessing firearms and ammunition. You certify that you are NOT any of the following:

• Convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year
• A fugitive from justice
• An unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance
• Adjudicated as a mental defective or committed to a mental institution
• An alien illegally or unlawfully in the United States, or admitted to the U.S. under a nonimmigrant visa
• Dishonorably discharged from the U.S. Armed Forces
• A U.S. citizen who has renounced their citizenship
• Subject to a court order restraining them from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner or the intimate partner's child
• Convicted in any court of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence
• Under indictment or information for a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year

The NICS background check conducted by the receiving FFL dealer will verify your eligibility.

8. Straw Purchases Prohibited

It is a federal crime (18 U.S.C. § 922(a)(6)) to purchase a firearm on behalf of another person (a “straw purchase”). You certify that the firearm you are purchasing is for your own use, as a gift to another eligible person, or for a lawful private transfer permitted by federal and state law. Violations are punishable by up to 10 years in federal prison.

9. Returns & Refunds for Firearms

Due to federal regulations, firearms that have been transferred through an FFL cannot be returned to Boomstick Outdoors directly. If there is a defect or issue with your firearm after transfer:

• Contact the manufacturer directly for warranty service (most include a manufacturer warranty)
• For pre-transfer defects discovered at the receiving FFL dealer, contact us at joe@boomstickoutdoors.com immediately before completing the transfer
• We will work with the receiving FFL dealer to return or exchange the firearm in accordance with ATF regulations

10. Responsibility & Indemnification

You acknowledge that firearms are inherently dangerous and require proper training, storage, and handling. By purchasing from Boomstick Outdoors, you agree to:

• Safely store and handle all firearms at all times
• Comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding ownership, transport, and use
• Hold Boomstick Outdoors LLC harmless from any injury, damage, or legal consequences resulting from your use, misuse, or transfer of purchased items
